The plays out at a smart European roulette table in a virtual casino. On the baize, you can see the betting grid, the basics are easy to grasp. The wheel has 37 numbered sections, with numbers 1 to 36 coloured red and black and a single green zero. Every round, the wheel spins and a virtual ball drops onto it, spinning in the opposite direction until it comes to rest in one of the numbered slots. The aim is to bet on which slot the ball ends up in. There are various means of betting, from predicting the specific number to simply predicting whether the final slot will be red or black.
This combination of simple game play and complex betting is what makes online roulette so much fun. For added entertainment value, you can try out different types of European roulette strategies. The Parlay system, for instance, is a positive progressive betting strategy in which the bet is doubled after each win. The famous Martingale system applies the same logic but in reverse.
Both of these work best on even-money bets and call for a sizeable bankroll to succeed. A more sophisticated option is the D’Alembert strategy. Here, you start with a stake of five chips, adding a chip when you lose and removing a chip when you win. This is less heavy on the bankroll. What you should never do is make contradictory bets. It’s futile, for example, to bet on red and black at the same time because a red win will be cancelled by a black loss, and vice versa.

Inside Bets
Place your chips in the positions on the inside of the betting grid to make the following bets:
- Straight Up: Bet on a single number for a potential payout of 35:1.
- Split Bet: Bet on two numbers that are next to each other for a potential payout ratio of 17:1.
- Street Bet: Bet on three numbers at the same time for a potential payout of 11:1.
- Square Bet: Bet on four numbers at once to potentially win an 8:1 payout.
- Line Bet: Combine two Street Bets for a potential payout of 5:1.
Outside Bets
Place your chips in the positions outside the betting grid to make the following bet. The Outside bets are:
- Column Bet: Bet on one of three columns labelled 1st 12, 2nd 12, and 3rd 12. This has a 2:1 payout.
- Dozen Bet: Place a bet on a row of 12 numbers labelled 2to1 for a 2:1 payout ratio.
- Even Money Bet: Bet on Red or Black, predict the colour of the winning number, or choose Even or Odd numbers. The payout is 1:1.
Expert Bets
Hit the “Expert” button in the bottom left, then click on “Call Bets” to bring up a menu with the following options:
- Neighbour Bets: Place a straight up bet on a number and its neighbouring numbers.
- Les Voisins Du Zero: Stake nine chips on the numbers between 22 and 25 on the wheel.
- Tiers Du Cylindre: Place split number bets on 5-8, 10-11, 13-16, 23-24, 27-30, and 33-36.
- Les Orphelins: Place a combination of split and straight up bets covering 17, 34, 6 and 1, 20, 14, 31, and 9.
- Les Orphelins en plein: Place straight-up bets on 1, 6, 9, 14, 17, 31, and 34.
- Finales en cheval: Place split bets covering numbers that include two numbers of your choice (e.g., 3/6, 13/16, 23/26, 33/36).
- Finales en plein: Place straight up bets on numbers ending in the same digit (e.g. 5-15-25-35).
- Red/Black Splits: Place six black number split bets or four red number split bets.
Another way to place these bets is to place your chips in the corresponding areas on the bet Racetrack, which displays the numbers in the order that they appear on the wheel
