Where it differs from other traditional games is the side bet offered to players, which can pay out at odds ranging from 5:1 to 200:1 depending on which winning combination you’re dealt initially. Otherwise, you’ll go about your business the usual way when playing Classic Blackjack with Sweetheart 16™. At the start of each round, you’ll receive two cards, and the dealer will receive one. Once dealt in, your options are to Stand (receive no more cards) or Hit (receive another card). Beat the dealer by building a higher-value hand that doesn’t go over 21.
Another way to win is to hit blackjack with an Ace and any card equal to 10, which pays out at generous odds of 3:2. If you receive a soft hand (you got an Ace as your first card and a card less than 10 as your second), you can treat your hand in two different ways. For example, if your second card is an 8, your hand can be either 9 or 19. If you’re dealt a hand with no Ace, the hand is considered hard. The dealer has to stand on a hard 17.

Sweetheart 16: This side bet offers five different ways to win. At the start of any round, you can place this bet and then push the “Deal” button to begin the game. If the initial two cards you are dealt combine to make up any of the following pairs totaling 16, you’ll be paid out as follows:
- Two 8’s of Hearts - 200:1
- Hearts total of 16 - 50:1
- Suited total of 16 - 16:1
- Colored total of 16 - 9:1
- Mixed total of 16 - 5:1
Double: Double your bet and take another card if you have a hand with a hard value of 9, 10, or 11. In Classic Blackjack with Sweetheart 16™, you cannot double down after splitting your hand.
Split: Split two cards of the same value at a cost equal to your stake. A new card will be dealt to each hand, increasing your chances of beating the dealer. You can only split once per game, making two hands. If you split a pair of Aces and draw a card with a value of 10, this has a value of 21, not blackjack. The same rule applies to splitting cards with a value of 10 and then drawing an Ace.
Insurance: If the dealer’s first card is an Ace, you can take insurance against the dealer getting Blackjack at a cost of half your stake. If the dealer has Blackjack, the insurance bet pays out at odds of 2:1. If the dealer doesn’t have Blackjack, the insurance bet is removed from the table and from your balance.
Caution Prompt: This feature helps players make better in-game decisions by asking if they are sure when making a statistically poor blackjack move. For example, a player attempting to Stand on 11 or below or choosing to Hit on 17 or above will initiate a caution prompt in the game.
